The Story . . .

Neckties are often much too beautiful for the stodgy environments in which they live. So for the many neckties I've collected, I decided to make other arrangements.

My daughter asked me to make her a skirt out of some colorful neckties we'd found at a second hand shop. For Athena, I made a short skirt, then a mid-length skirt for myself, and then I was asked by a friend of my mother's to make a full length skirt. These came out progressively more interesting and were a lot fun to design. If you'd like to try your hand at a necktie skirt, download a free tutorial.

Later, I came across a small handbag made from neckties which I thought was really clever, so I decided to adapt this idea and come up with my own handbag designs.

The first two bags were for Athena and her best friend - they were both very pleased to be the only girls in their middle school carrying these unique accessories. But soon they both began to get inquiries, hence, my line was born.
